Why is this such a good nightcap?
Well because it contains chamomile of course! Let me tell you a little bit about the effects and benefits of chamomile. Chamomile is KNOWN to be excellent for relaxing before bedtime.
Why chamomile is so great before bed:
*Chamomile is known to be excellent for relaxing before bedtime. For example, I love drinking sleepytime tea in the evening because it has a calming effect on my nerves and it helps me to relax. The Strawberry Chamomile Paloma recipe consists of sleepytime tea bags that contain chamomile extract – this ingredient helps put you to sleep by calming your nervous system.
*Apigenin, an antioxidant found in chamomile tea and other natural sources of the plant, has been known to promote sleepiness. It can also help reduce insomnia or chronic inability to sleep with its effects on certain receptors in your brain that may trigger these feelings.
*Chamomile is a favorite herb for promoting relaxation and reducing pain thanks primarily due to apigenin’s role as an anti-inflammatory agent against various proteins that are responsible for inflammation throughout the body – including those which cause joint problems such as arthritis (due it being able to bind calcium ions).
8It’s a perfect summer nightcap – Light, easy to make, and tastes great! Strawberry not only offers flavor but also antioxidants that will also help you feel better in the morning.
*Strawberry Chamomile Palomas are light enough that you can serve them as a refreshing beverage, or drink them later on in the evening as a nightcap
